Welcome to the Relay for Life Page! Let's start out on some information first.
Relay For Life events are life-changing cancer fundraising events that help communities across the globe fight back against cancer. Rekay for Life works like this, the even is organized, and it's done overnight (or all day) as a community fundraising walk, where teams of people camp out around a track. Members of each team take turns walking around the track (like ours). There's food, games and activities provide entertainment and build camaraderie. It's a family-friendly environment for the entire community. Because it's a team event, individual participants are not required to be there the entire time. But it's so much fun, you'll find it hard to leave!
We're a team who has been attending Relay for the past few years now. Our booth has been a popular attraction; throwing water balloons at the teachers! Over the years, we've raised over 300 dollars for Relay (surprisingly, the baseball team is our biggest buyer). We've even had the mayor of Parkland get hit with water balloons by the city commissioners!
In preparation for Relay, we'll host fundraisers at local businesses, like Carvel and the Panther Ice Plex and raise money before the event. We'll prepare after school every day the week of, and head out for an all night (or all day, it changes) Relay walk!
When the time comes closer we'll post team information on here so you can join and start fundraising.
